32 in Panasonic TC-32x1 help asap!!!

ok so i have a 50 in pany s1 and i was having the same problem as the following: when i plug in my hdtv via hdmi to my pc the picture is too big the start bar is almost out of the screen. Dell had someone come to my house and we adjusted the resolution..still the problem took place. the guy from dell left and i continued to mess with it. I finally went to menu>picture>advanced options>hd size and switch it to hd size 2 and BOOOOOOOMMM we were in business it worked perfect. Now i just bought the 32 in panny which a lcd and i have the same problem but when i went to try and change the hd size it is greyed out and i cant adjust any of the sizes except the simple format. Is there a reason or any other options as to adjusting the zoom or size features? please help i will take back the tv if it doesnt fit for my computer! thanks to all
