Should I buy Lost now or wait for complete collection?

I rented season 1 of Lost on BD, but it was only to watch a couple episodes because I can't watch an entire season in a few days. I got hooked, and want to buy seasons 1-5 on Blu-ray, but I know the complete set is coming out later this year. What should I do?

I’m in the same boat as you, only I’m currently in the middle of season 1. Here’s the deal for me: it’s currently on Hulu through December 31st, 2010. That gives me enough time to watch seasons 1-6, for free. I’d buy it on Amazon for something like $108 (that’s what I hear it was at one point but I didn’t know about it so I didn’t buy it), but I’m not going to spend $150 (I buy it used) if the complete collection is coming out in August WITH 2 FULL HOURS OF BONUS FEATURES. So, unless I find an incredible price for seasons 1-5, I’m going to catch up on Lost on Hulu, and then when the complete collection comes out in August, I’ll buy it when the price is right (which may not be until Black Friday).

Dude, you're never going to get that price again. That was a Deal of the Day, rarely do those deals reappear.

To the OP, I'd wait for the Complete Collection...just in case they ruin the final season

If you're a real Lost fan you'll buy all the seasons individually and then buy the boxed set like I intend to do.

I'm always glad to see new Losties..the show is simply amazing and truly one of a kind. If you don't own any seasons yet, just wait for the complete series. Don't forget that you can watch all the episodes for free, on ABC.com but you'll have to put up with the advertisements. OP, stay out of the Lost season 6 thread lol way too many spoilers in there. You're both on season 1 which is the best out of all of them and has a great finale that will leave you on the edge of your seat and anxious to to start season 2.

I never saw it, its on my streaming netflix, but I'm worried with most shows people recommend on here I'll enjoy it. It never really got my interest when I'd see commercials maybe someone can comment on if those do it justice.

lol I've been trying to get you to watch Lost for the longest time. Just take the plunge and buy/rent season 1.

And that would be the definition of insane. It's not like you're replacing DVD with Blu, but you're douple dipping on Blu with Blu, all just for the matter of timing.

I can't wait. I bought one season also. Watched a few episodes and couldn't stop watching. I bought seasons 2 and 3 right away. I went to buy season 4 last night but Amazon's price on season 4 went up to $48.99. All of the other seasons were $34.99 still. Weird

I just found this show a couple of months ago bot Season 1 and got hooked. I bot 2-5 and managed to watch every episode before the Season 6 premiere. I'll buy 6 for completeness but if I did not own any I would wait to buy the complete package.

Not really. People double dip for a variety of reasons, even if it's just for the difference in packaging. The Complete Collection does offer a disc with bonus features that won't be available with the individual S6 release, so there's a reason right there. And if you're a die-hard fan, it only makes the ambition that much stronger. Not to mention this is the best show in television history, if not one of. It's definitely worth it.

I mean I certainly couldn't wait and had to buy them all ASAP, but there's no chance I would then purchase the complete set myself. And I do love myself some Lost.
