Arrow "Horns" - Shia LaBeouf is the Devil!

Ok I exaggerate, but still, it made for an eye catching Headline

Source: Spill.com

Quote:
"Transformers" star Shia Labeouf has been attached to star in the film adaptation of Joe Hill's bestseller "Horns", produced by Mandalay Pictures. Billed as "a love story driven by horror and vengeance", it tells the tale of Ig Perrish - a young man who awakens to find horns slowly sprouting from his head and a bleary hangover after a night of "doing terrible things". Still reeling from the grisly death of his girlfriend, Ig finds that the horns give him the ability to get people to admit even the most embarrassing details, and decides to use his new powers to uncover the truth about his girlfriend's death.

While I think we can all picture how this will turn out (I can already hear the frantic "nonononono" scene when he discovers the horns), this is exactly the type of film that Shia Labeouf is good at - the seemingly regular schmo who is thrust into strange circumstances and is forced to confront them. Plus, who better to have to deal with the unsightly and often hilarious "T.M.I." admissions from people in his community than someone who has seemingly made a career out of being put in embarrassing situations?

Author Joe Hill (son of horror legend Stephen King), will exec produce the film, having optioned the rights to Mandalay Pictures before the book was even published. Shia Labeouf can next be seen in July's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon".

At least that sounds original, as long as you don't compare it to What Women Want

Has Stephen Kings son produced any movies before? I didn't know his son was in the same business.

It sounds interesting. I will wait till the trailer to get a better idea if it's a movie I would see.

Goodness this is a terrible film idea, Shia as the main focus of an entire movie may be a bit much for me.

IMO it sounds like a more original though odd idea. I also don't have hate for Shia like so many people do. In fact I happen to like many of his movies ( Holes, Disturbia, Transformers, etc...).

Horns was a silly-sounding idea that turned out to be a great book. Absolutely nothing like Hellboy. I am 100% against Shia Lebouf as Ig Perrish. I have no faith in his range as an actor.

Joe Hill also writes a comic book called Locke and Key which is currently in development for television. Locke and Key is fantastic, if anyone else is comic-friendly.

I would rather see Joe Hill's Heart Shaped Box before Horns. Horns was a alright read but enjoyed HSB and Locke and Key (Comic series) better.
Joe Hill is a cool guy and very down to earth,I had a chance to met him 4 different times for book signings. Just don't ask him anything about his dad because he won't answer it.
I asked him if he will ever play with The Rock Bottom Remainders (Music group that includes Stephen King,Amy Tan,Mitch Albom, the late Frank McCourt,Dave Barry,Ridley Pearson,Kathi Goldmark,Greg Iles,Scott Turow,Mat Groening and a few others) and he said no I leave that for my dad.

Foggy good job at fooling me with the thread title. Sad really, as I was hoping Beef would play the devil. THAT would have been atrociously funny.
