There's some good movies on their list, but there is so many that are much better than these. Of course its all a matter of opinion tho. Thanks for posting it.

A pretty unconventional list, although I realised that it's just one guy's list of favourites as opposed to a collaborative effort. 'IGN's Top 10 Films of All Time' is a bit misleading.

Either that or obviously grew up in the 80's

Though, I like all of these movies ... it looks like someone is trying to re write movie history.

let the comments begin.

Yeah, it's a bit odd to call an article that when it's just someone's personal favorites. It's definitely a good list though, can't go wrong with Empire Strikes Back and Beetlejuice.

Holy misleading thread titles batman. The article clearly says it's the top 10 favorites of one person. Not a top 10 best of all time for the entire site. *facepalm*

Should be titled "Jerkoff's favorite films of the 80s plus Psycho so I don't seem like a douche"

This list is a joke...I wonder who came up with this. EDIT: I see that the joke is the thread's title .

No it's a good list. This is the list of someone who clearly does not care what other people think, and refuses to put in token "classics" and "goats" in order to appease other people.

"Heathers" on a top 10 list?? I love it!!

You're saying that about a list that features Star Wars: A New Hope at the top.

Yeah, don't see the problem. It's a personal list, and there's some good choices. I'm sure people would snipe at MY personal top 10/20 list too... yet not one single **** would be given that day.

Obviously a list of personal favorites, but what suprised me is how it looks a lot like a list of best-of the golden years of VHS rentals, 1985-1995.

Makes me wonder if the writer didn't use to work in a rental store... Nostalgia

  1. Star Wars: A New Hope (sure)
  2. Back to the Future (sure)
  3. Heathers (uh...sure)
  4. Beetlejuice (yeah, it's great and all...)
  5. Heavenly Creatures (hmmm...)
  6. Die Hard (yeah...)
  7. A Nightmare on Elm Street (uh huh...)
  8. National Lampoon's Vacation (...really?)
  9. Psycho (yes, this is more like it)
  10. Dazed and Confused (sorry, I don't understand the love for this one)
Coming from IGN, I guess I wasn't expecting much anyway. These are all good movies in their own right, but it also feels like something put together by people with very specific tastes. There's still a whole world of cinema that's not accurately represented here.
