Default Fury of the Strongman | S. Craig Zahler

Quote:
In a recent interview with Word Balloon, Zahler revealed that he has three film projects in various stages of development.

[...] Fury of the Strongman is “going around.” This is another movie that he’s had in the works for quite some time. The screenplay is even available to read on his website if you don’t mind spoilers. I won’t ruin it for you, but it’s another gritty crime movie in the vein of Brawl In Cell Block 99 and Dragged Across Concrete, albeit much more mean-spirited and nasty. Set in the 1970s, the twisted tale revolves around a travelling circus that ruffles the feathers of the racist locals of a small Louisiana town. As is the case with all Zahler movies thus far, things get pretty violent. [+]

Dude needs to shave his head, that long hair mixed with balding is not doing him any favours.

Love his work, both film and novel.
Hope the turnaround of Hug to Fury is similar to Brawl to Dragged.

I found Bone Tomahawk kinda shite. But Cell Block 99 was intense. Curious about his next film.

'Brawl in Cell Block 99' was good -- but man, did 'Dragged Across Concrete' take it to a new level of appreciation for him.

Love how unapologetically mean-spirited this guy's films are.

Hope he's writing the sequel for 'Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich', too.

Really? I can see people disliking the pacing, but that's my jam.
And then when the Zahler flair kicks in, it hits hard. That third act is insane.

I would be interested to see if he can ever get to the violence he gets to with his books and unproduced screenplays.

I couldn't get past the silliness of the action but I did find it tense all the way through.
