Default Tremors, a bd or a flipper

Anyone know at this time whether Universal is screwing us with a flipper or giving us the real deal blu-ray? If its a flipper I ain't buying it, and I really want to buy it.

Unhappy Feed flippers to the graboids!!!

Where was this announced??? Love this film, its a hoot - BUT
if it's a flipper, I agree with KT and I'll also pass and wait for a real BD.

It has not been announced but is expected this year along with a brand new direct to DVD/BD sequel. I'd imagine it will be a flipper. Universal has made it clear they are supporting this, and have ceased production of DVD only releases on thier popular titles once they come to Blu ray. It baffles me why you all would not buy a film you like on Blu ray because it includes a DVD. I think you are all ridiculous. You may never get this film on Blu ray by itself.

The fact that HD-DVD flippers from Universal were a massive defect-laden failure would be reason to avoid them, but the first wave of Universal Blu-Ray flippers has been on the market for a few weeks, and I haven't heard a single serious defect reported.

Sounds like they've also ceased production of Blu-ray only releases on their more popular titles. What they should do is cease DVD production all together.

Either way I picked up the Bourne Trilogy from the UK instead of the US releases.

Universal is dead-set on foisting the flipper format on us, even against massive market resistance. Some executive there has obviously made the call already, unless it leads to a huge sales drop. It would not surprise me if Tremors is put out exclusively as a flipper in the U.S. Remember that it likely will be released as a normal BD in Europe, so importing is always an option.

This is a good thing. I will import everything that is released as a flipper in the US from UK from now on.

I HATE flippers but won't be too bothered as long as Universal don't murder it with DNR and EE like they did with the HD DVD release!

There are sooooooo many reasons why flippers are bad that has been covered soooooo many times already.

This was supposed to be released in March but has been delayed until later in the year; put your $$$s towards something else for now...

If I remember correctly I believe the original Blu-ray / DVD flipper was suppose to be limited to single layers (25 GB BD / 5 GB DVD). Just out of curiosity does anyone know if Universal was able to expand it to dual layers?

The Bourne flippers are BD-59s: BD-50 + DVD-9.

That's better than single layer discs ... maybe the limitation was on a single side (I know there was talk about potentially having BD and DVD on the same side of the disc). Of course DVD-18 never really took off due to poor yields.
