Has this ever happened to you before?

I was playing a game(MLB 10) and I hit my PS button and clicked quit game, It told me are you sure you want to quit the game and I said yes. I put the controller down easy and picked up my box for the game and fiddled with it a moment.

I hear a sound of my PS3 clicking 2 times(you know when u turn it off) anyway I look up at my TV. and notice the ps3 logo came up and made that noise it does when you turn on the ps3. My controller was off when I looked at it.

I loaded up the game again since it was still in the system and after it got loaded I clicked quit game and after that everything was normal like it has always been.

Also I never looked at the ps3 when it made the 2 click noise, so I dont know if it really did turn off or not. I just could see that my screen was the same loading screen as when you turn the ps3 on and it makes that noise. Could someone please help me. Should I be worried about this mishap?

Some people have complained about The Show crashing when quitting to the XMB, auto-restarting the PS3 but it's not harming your system.

Thats good to know.Thank you for your help. Now I am glad I went ahead and put named what game I was playing when This happened.

Well, it's happened to me a few times after playing Uncharted 2 as well.

It has happened to me many times over the last 3 years. I've never had any problems with software afterwards though. All game saves and progress have always remained in tact.
