Default Best Overall Action Movie Franchise???

Ok this is a lil different then voting best action film. I listed movie franchises with atleast 3 entries. U have to vote based on every movie in the series in order to form which one is the best. So for example just because Rambo may be your fav movie of all time, if u dont like the sequels then u may not want to vote for the Rambo films as the best overall Franchise of films. Make sure u weigh all the films in the series before u choose the best one. Let the great ones weigh in with the weak ones in the series then come up with a decision. I didnt list any horror/sci-fi/fantasy/superhero action films as I wanted to focus on str8 action films without the other elements. Also list the worst franchise listed and even a couple of your favorites also. My take:

Best: Beverly Hills Cop Franchise

Favorites: Rush Hour & The Fast & the Furious Franchises

Dont have a worst franchise. Got Em!!

The Bourne trilogy is the first one that pops up in my head, but I'm not sure you would consider it "str8 action".

EDIT: When I posted the poll hadn't shown up yet. My vote goes for Bourne.

Rambo for me, Die Hard would be close though... I love Indiana Jones but always saw it as more of an adventure series than an action series...

"Indiana Jones," my fourth favorite film franchise of them all (and what the heck, I think it's the best)!

Best: Bourne Trilogy. Tough choice, but IJ2 and IJ4 are both worse than Bourne Supremacy.

Favorite: Indiana Jones.

Least Favorite: The Fast and The Furious -fist was ok, second was terrible, stopped watching them at that point.

Czar, I think you do these list and make your selections just to rile people up sometimes or at least rile me up.

Seriously out of all the actions series out there Beverly Hills Cop is your choice for best? It's good and all the last one sucked but I still like them it's more comedy than action though. The same could be said of Rush Hour.

To me I would list in no particular order these franchises above the 3 you mentioned.

Die Hard
Lethal Weapon
Bourne
Mission Impossible
Rambo
James Bond

I would also list franchises like Indiana Jones, The Matrix and Terminator but while they have a lot of Action sequences they fall more under adventure or sci-fi for me to call them Action films.

You're missing some pretty major franchises:

James Bond
Mad Max
The Matrix (or would its primary genre be sci-fi?)
Robocop (or would its primary genre be sci-fi?)
The Terminator (or would its primary genre be sci-fi?)
Blade (or would its primary genre be either comic book or horror?)

Even if you leave out those whose primary genre is questionable, I'm sure James Bond would receive a crapload of votes if it was included.

Well if u wouldve read the opening to this thread u would realize I didnt miss any of those with the exception of Bond. The only reason I didnt list Bond as yes its an action franchise but there are a bunch of sub Bond franchises as different people played Bond so to me its not 1 franchise that goes together. Got Em!!

Man, I know I just find it funny that looking at our collections we share similar tastes in films but every once in awhile you throw something out there that makes me go huh?!

I have to disagree there Czar-- the Bond series is 1 franchise regardless of different actors playing Bond.
Going by that arguement then the Robocop and Terminator series should be gone as well since a different actor was in Robocop 3 and different actors were in Terminator Salvation....

Thtas just it, there are so many movies that we are bound to like a lot of the same films but at the same token we are also bound to disagree as well. Again thats what makes these discussions good. It would be a boring place if we all liked exactly the same films. Got Em!!
