Guys Looking to add a sub to my 3 channel set up, I have a pioneer elite 03 with polk 60 and polk center.
If I go with a polk sub what would be the best option if not polk what would be the recommended sub? Thanks |

Budget (how much are you willing to spend?) Driver size (8", 10", 12", 15", 18"?) Cabinet size (does it need to be small to fit into a certain space, or is WAF a consideration?) That should be enough to get us started. ![]() ![]() |

Check out the Premier Acoustics PA-120. I got mine for $223 shipped.
I was in the same price range - and from all I ready - alot of people like it. There is also a number of other choices: For $350 shipped - people just love the ED A2-300. There is also the Bic America VK-12 and the PL-200. Read all those user/owner thread here. I think you'll do better with one of those over a polk sub - most will tell you they upgraded from the polk to one of those. |

thanks again guys, seems that the price range Im currently in might limit the quality of the sub which Im reading is important.
If I saved a bit more is there a decent price range where the performance maxs out in other words outside of some very expensive sub is there a major diffirence between a $400 sub vs a $300 sub? Thanks guys I spend considerable time reaching out to the knowledge of this forum before purchasing my a/v r and dont really know whats the major specs to be looking at with a sub so Im leaning on your input,,,thanks |

The BIC H-100 is very highly rated for it's price. It has many good reviews as seen on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Acoustech-H-10.../dp/B0006DNW6U You can get two H-100s for $407 with free shipping. http://www.sounddistributors.com/buy...at_name=Search add the coupon code tv15 to get a discount. The coupon code works for any BIC subwoofer as far as I know. If you don't want dual subs, check out the BIC PL-200 for BIC VK-12. With the coupon code the prices comes out to $280. update- It seems the tv15 code works for pretty much anything on the website actually. Last edited by tootall82103; 03-12-2010 at 09:50 AM. |

As far as the OP's question, you can get eD a2-250 for $325. It doesn't appear that many people own it, but it does go down to 18Hz. I ordered one a month ago, and am still waiting for it, however. I would go for a BIC F12...they go for less than $300 if you look on the net hard enough. |

Here's the info I have used: Eric Winston at Sound Distributors (Email: sounddistributors@gmail.com ) (800)691-6914 http://www.sounddistributors.com I've been given Discount codes Both times I bought my PA-120's (saving 15% each time), so I would email him, saying you're interested but wondering if there's any type of sale or "discount" he might have for you. Good luck. |

Here's the link to my original question - just like yours (my budget is/was $250).
https://forum.blu-ray.com/subwoofers...y-choices.html and here is a thread that is similar with a $300 budget: https://forum.blu-ray.com/subwoofers...r-300-a-2.html And here is another thread - just like this - the OP went with the PA-120. https://forum.blu-ray.com/subwoofers...e-new-sub.html I'd read through those, and then I'd read all the user threads on the subs you may be interested in (like the Premier Acoustics owner thread, the Bic America owners thread, and the Elemental Designs (ED A2-300) thread). Good luck - report back what you finally decide! |
