Default Does Netflix update their Blu-rays?

Now that a new transfer/replacement of Gladiator is coming out, what are the chances of Netflix trading in their original copies? Or Saving Private Ryan with the audio issue? And so on.

Little to none. Why would they spend more money to marginally upgrade a title they already have? That just drives up the price of our rentals.

I rented Gangs of New York from them and it was the bad copy, not the remastered. This was less than 6 months ago. They probably just bought more blu-ray copies of GONY as the format gained popularity and disc do wear out so they will gradually replace disc as they go along. For something like Saving Private Ryan, I doubt they will ditch a recently purchased batch for new ones.

i rented it 2 weeks after it came out and it was the new disc; other people reported the same thing. maybe they still had some old ones kicking around, but they were definitely proactive about getting the new transfer at least to some of their warehouses.
but of course, different studio, different movie, who knows.

Yeah, but for something like Gladiator, where the studio is offering an exchange - it shouldn't cost them any money, right?
