As the name states - I used to own HD DVD and switched when the war ended to a Samsung BD UP 5000 because it would play both HD DVD and Bluray. I have been VERY VERY pleased with the picture quality of the Samsung - but of course like most people in these threads experienced issues with the player freezing and not playing new some blurays. I recently bought a Panasonic BD 60 because I have seen some many good reviews of the PQ and DVD upconversion. I have watched several movies side by side with the Samsung and Panasonic and I am just not impressed. I want to take the panny back and get another Samsung but I fear with all the negativity it may have gotten worse after my model came out (the 5000 is basically the 1400 but may have a few more features). I am watching on a 42" panasonic plasma 720P/1080i. I would like to hear from someone who can relate to my experince and has a suggestion for which player to switch to as I am looking for a bluray only player...
Thanks. |
