Default I think I might change my front's..Ideas!!!

I am tossing up the idea of redoing the corner area of my HT. I want to get rid of the TV stand I have now and build a different stand, shelving unit (built into the corner) to house the components. Since the top of it will be larger I will not have the area for floor standing speakers and will have to use bookshelf's. I will still use my Energy rears but not the C-300's and C-C100. I like the warm sound of the Energy's and would like to find something close. My mind is open to anything so fire away. I have been looking at Axiom's, Monitor audio, Paradigm and Aperion. My budget will be $1,000 for a Left, Right and Center.

Erict, if bookshelves are what you're thinking, and you prefer the warm sound, you really should consider the eD W6 line.

These MA bookshelf speakers are affordable and I'm sure they pack a punch with the 8" driver. Put them with the RX center and you would be all set!

RX2

Of course I also have to recommend the B&W 685's . I would like some myself. Paired up with a HTM62 center.

685

These options may be a little above your 1k budget, but they sure would sound good.

Given your price range, I would look at the PSB Image series speakers.

either the B6 and C5 = $874

Or if you want to save a little extra money, then look at the B25s and the C60 @ saturdayaudio.com, you would spend $558

Since you like the sound of the Energy speakers, these would probably be right up your alley also. They are one speaker I am considering when the time is right. IMO, the MAs and Paradigms are a little more in your face, then the C-300s, but they are both excellent sounding speakers.

Great deal for the Monitor Audio combo, with the RS6's and the RSLCR for $1,200....that's what I'm talking about! The PSB sale with the Imagine C center and Image T6's fronts was killer too!

Thanks for the input. I wonder how the Axiom's are? Was looking at the M3v2 and VP150v2. I forgot to mention that these will be driving by a Emotiva XPA-3.

+1

Keep in mind the IMAGE B6 and C5 are $874 MSRP. After 20% discount, the total would be $699

A typical local dealer will give you 10-20% off. However you can call and haggle with Audio Advisor I am sure they will do something.

what is your zipcode?

I would definitely give the Paradigms a listen. They have some pretty impressive bookshelves for the money. I'm very happy with my Paradigm towers and center channel I just bought. Excellent for HT as well as music. And they blend great with my A2-300.

I think the MA's are a great speaker. They are pretty neutral to my ears, but if they leaned to one side it would be towards the brighter side. I know you like the warmth of your Energys. I have added a few components to warm up my MA's a touch and I am very pleased with them. I think you should take a listen to them and decide for yourself.

I will also second the PSB speakers. I just demoed a pair of the B5's. I do think they need a sub, but that shouldn't be any issue in an HT application. They seem to be a great speaker for the money. I have considered them for a bedroom HT setup myself.

There is one PSB dealer 6 miles from me......that is the closest I have ever found a dealer of any speaker manufacturer around me here in "Farm Land."

I will be going there whenever I get a chance.....whenever that will be.
