Default What TV Show Should I Watch Next?

Okay, so I'm watching Sons of Anarchy, which I'm digging so far. Just finished the second episode. Gonna probably run through both seasons this weekend.

I want some thoughts on what show I should watch next? There will be a few guidelines according to what I like, and everyone feel free to throw out suggestions.

Must be a serialized show. I want a show that tells a story over a single or multiple seasons.

Examples of those shows include Lost, Heroes, Dexter, Jericho, etc.

I enjoy shows that are not standalone type shows, such as CSI or Without a Trace, where everything's wrapped up in one episode, with a storyline or two continuing.

Now I've seen a TON of shows that have aired over the past ten years.

Here's a couple series that I've got in the queue, but just haven't started them up.

Californication
Breaking Bad
Supernatural

What are some suggestions?

I'll let ya know if I've seen any of the suggestions that are given.

Since it seems to be the most popular show on this board: Smallville!

EDIT: I think Lost may be the most popular but you already mentioned that....

24 for good, fast paced, non-stop action.

Rome - for politics, violence and sex.

(I assume you've seen Dexter and Lost - no-brainer there).

Breaking Bad for sure. I watched Californication for the first couple seasons but this most recent season has become extremely juvenile and just horrible in my opinion, I quit watching because it just lost its way in my opinion.

True Blood is a good example of a serialized tale about vampires. Rome might not be a bad choice either.

I can't say enough good things about The Wire. It sounds like it might be up your alley. The cops work the whole season on one case.

Yep, already seen The Wire, and other serialized shows like Oz and Carnivale.

I agree. I caught a few episodes today from season 1 and officially I am hooked.

Groo Breaking Bad is pretty sick. I think you might like it.

I will also second the True Blood recommendation since the third season starts in June or July, there's plenty of time to catch up on the first 2 seasons.

I haven't seen it yet, but since so many people have said how much Breaking Bad is a good show. I'd go with that one, I'm waiting for it to be released on BD to watch.

I also like Weeds, not sure if you'd like that considering the content of the show but regardless it's good (IMO)

I've heard good things about Weeds. I don't smoke, personally, but I don't have any problems with those who do, or shows about it.

Just started Supernatural. Seems interesting, and since I know virtually NOTHING about the show other than
[Show spoiler]it is about two brothers who (I think) have some type of powers or they're demons or some shit, and they're looking for their father.

[Show spoiler]Dean just showed up and is telling his brother that their dad is missing on a "hunting trip"

EDIT:

Meh. This isn't my type of show. Watched the 1st episode, and started to watch the 2nd one but then just lost interest. Not a big horror fan, and the "urban legend of the week" type thing isn't really my bag either.

Might watch that show Kidnapped, though. And then Breaking Bad after that.

My favorite shows:

Six Feet Under -- a somewhat weird show, but if you stick with it until the end, it's well worth the time

The West Wing -- whether you agree with the politics or not is irrelevant, it's still an interesting show, with maybe the best writing I've seen on any show

Cheers -- no explanation needed

I watched the first five seasons of West Wing and then just got burned out on it.

NO! Supernatural is awesome! It completely changes in season 3. Season 1 and 2 are pretty much the same with some twists.

It's my second favorite show next to Lost. I highly recommend it. It's even better than Smallville.
