This is a classic but I don't think we will see it on blu and if we do I am worried that the transfer will dissappoint a lot of people.

OMG!!! IF, this comes to Blu. This movie alone would make my mother but a BD player. She SWEARS that she wrote a letter to Stallone and a year later Cobra came out w/ his charecter named Marion. Yes! My moms name is Marion. Same spelling too! Kinda scary!!! Definately funny!!

Interesting story...I have a story similar to that.

When I first signed up for HD DISH Network programming back in '07, all they had was the silver ViP622 HD DVR. I asked the CSR if they had it in black, she said no. I asked because all my other equipment was black and so a silver receiver would look out of place, and the CSR wondered why they didn't have a black version. Well, it was just a few months later, when the new Vip722 came out. Identical DVR receiver with the exception of a larger HDD, (from 30 hours of HD programming to 55 hours), but this time, the receiver was black. So, I'm not saying that I had a direct role of getting DISH to make the 722 black, but I at least planted the seed if it wasn't already there.

I bet it will street sometime in the next year as one of Warner's budget titles. As I recall, "Cobra" was available fairly early on DVD, plus WB has already released "Over the Top" and "Tango and Cash" to Blu. While I do love "Cobra," I'm more eagerly awaiting "Demolition Man," which IMO is a much better flick and is in desperate need of an upgrade. The DVD is so old it was probably one of WB's initial titles (which were notorious for being laserdisc transfers) and it looks like complete garbage on a big screen.

Since there have been a couple different Stallone double/triple feature DVD releases from WB, maybe we'll see a similar thing happen with a BD Double Feature. On a mostly unrelated note, I'm also hoping Warner will release "Action Jackson" so I can see Carl Weathers jump over a speeding car.
