Thumbs down Music Making People Kill!

Well first of all I'm not a fan of rap anymore because it just got boring to me. There is a group called insane clown posers or I mean posse, and these morons who call themselves juggalows murdered an innocent man. It's on a news site, and the link is below. Just click and watch. The story is on the website. Let me know what you think. This is one reason why rap is dead to me.

You can't blame music for the actions of individuals.

I know that, but their are some morons out there who blame music, and follow garbage music like this. In this case it was the music. who the heck listens to this trash anymore anyway.

There was also the gunman from Virgina Tech listen to "Shine" from Collective Soul all the time.

And the kids from the Columbine listened to "Mo Murda" from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

"Mo Murda" I can understand....it's a very violent song, "Shine" on the other hand....

Are u serious?? Not this again?? More "blame rap music" This gets real old. Rap has nuthin to do with anyone killing no one. Some people are just idiots and have severe problems that goes way deeper than any rap song. Ive listened to gangsta rap for forever and it never once influenced me to go kill someone! That is a cop out or just plain insanity. Whether u like rap or not that doesnt mean its not good music. thats like me saying I dont like Metal or Country but I aint calling it bad music or saying it sucks. The nerve of some folks! Got Em!!

I'm not blaming music I'm just saying what the news said. I used to like rap, but it just got lame to me. And I do agree with you.

But I do see what you're saying--no band or rapper can pull the trigger for you, but it's still worth looking at the influences these kids had.

People need to take responsibility for their actions though. Blaming music, movies, and video games is weaksauce.

Well just reading how u wrote it thats how I took it. No prob though but I get tired of hearing the blame rap syndrome. It gets old. Rap isnt the only music that has profanity or such use of certain negatives. Its all entertainment in my eyes regardless. Its not reality, its words on a beat for u to listen to or dance to or whatever. Got Em!!

Thats just it. I have been watching horror films and listening to rap my whole life and its never influenced me negatively in no way. Its all about your upbringing and you as a person. People who say they killed people for rap or done bad things because of this song id full of crap. Those people wouldve probably done the same thing even if rap was never invented. A weak mind and person is just what it is. Got Em!!

I think I'll go listen to Eminem - "Sing for the Moment" now...

They say music can alter moods and talk to you
Well can it load a gun up for you, and cock it too?
Well if it can, then the next time you assault a dude
Just tell the judge it was my fault and I'll get sued

Exactly. This is a tired old argument that gets pulled out every so often. I mean Ozzy and Judas Priest were blamed for a coule of suicides in the 80's and metal was the music of choice back then. And don't forget video games. Odds are if you can put a gun to someones head(or your own) and pull the trigger you have greater issues than your entertainment choices.

Thank you CZAR, couldn't have said it better. There are so many ignorant people out there that blame rap music for someone being murdered. If that were the case me, CZAR and every other rap fan would be doing the same thing. This is ALL on the individual and if he let rap music or any other kind of music cause him to kill then he/she has serious problems.

Blame was put on Rammstein for the Columbine shootings back in '99.

I wouldn't BLAME any music for violent actions, but if you don't think listening to stuff like that repeatedly has some influence i think you are underestimating musics ability to evoke emotion and other elements on the psyche. Sure most the time this gets any kind of a look, its complete propaganda and lazy news looking for an easy way to get ratings or a scape goat. But mainstream rap does have to share some responsibility in how it glorifies violence, mistreatment of women etc... and how this kind of stimulus can affect people especially the younger generation.

I listen to a lot of faster/harder stuff that gets me pumped, or slower stuff that mellows me out etc.... this all influences my mood and to an extent my actions. Its reckless on the artist and genre's fault imo to basically glorify and in a way make it look admirable to be "gangsta" or in this case a "juggalo" lol. ICP.... didn't even know they were still around.

and these lyrics....

Quote:
When a dude's gettin bullied and shoots up your school
And they blame it on Marilyn - and the heroin
Where were the parents at?
And look at where it's at middle America
Now it's a tragedy
Now it's so sad to see
An upper class city having this happening
Then attack Eminem cause I rap this way

Old case, Ozzie Osbourne back in 1984. There have been others, I believe but this is likely the most well-known.
