Does anybody know if this will ever get released? It is a very good movie!! I would love to see this released.

A BRAND NEW LIFE

Young Jinhee is taken by her father to an orphanage near Seoul. He leaves her there never to return, and she struggles to come to grips with her fate. Jinhee desperately believes her father will come back for her and take her on a trip. The film is based on the experiences of the director, an ethnic Korean who was adopted by a French couple in the 1970s.—

This isn't a good movie it's an excellent film. The career starting performance by Kim Sae-ron is pitch perfect for the role and beautifully realised by director Ounie Lecomte. Loosely based on her time in a South Korean orphanage as a child and later adopted by a French couple.
I take it you mean when will it be released on Blu-ray because it has been available for many years on DVD. I own a copy myself and look to it being available in a superior format.............hopefully 4K although I would settle for standard blu. Another stand out performance is by the cripple girl who attempts suicide.

I love this AMAZING FILM as well. Been watching the dvd for years, but would also love to have this on Blu-ray.

You should also watch others films with Kim Sae-ron. Most of them are very worthwhile. Track down and watch 'Barbie', an incredibly sad film about the organ trade.

WTF man. Dig their films but am often repulsed by these elements of Korean culture. Just the other night I was watching Sleep and while not a great flick overall Lee Sun-kyun was pretty good in it and since Parasite felt like he was on track for a good run. He also took his own life in 2023 because of similar scrutiny.. a real shame this keeps happening.

RIP Kim Sae-ron she was excellent in A Girl at My Door and Barbie.

She had such promise going forward. Her choice of films showed foresight. I love Korea and Koreans although in some ways they are incredibly backwards.
The real disaster for us is now all her films that have never seen a Blu-ray release never will. They will probably even remove the physical media currently available after the stock is sold.

RIP: Kim Sae-ron. I adored you in 'A Brand New Life'.
