Best Buy Sometimes it pays to wait..

I was looking for the movie crimson tide for a few weeks.. checked all my local stores near me, and then I saw best buy had an online sale and it did not say anything about the in-store price.. So I was like crap... I got as far as putting it in the shopping cart but had that gut feeling to wait...

So this time I went to a store 50 miles away (had to pick something up other then bb) and I decide to stop in the store.. and to my surprise it was the same as the online price! and... and... they had some in stock!

Still can't find Das boot in stores so I guess that's going to be an online order..

Anyways long story short I got this and Tears Of The Sun

I got scolded by someone here saying I don't own enough "older" movies..

The funny thing is this site and the deals is what got be back into best buy.. I used to work at the store 7 years ago and I said I would never go back in one.. but the deals on some movies are just too good to pass up.

Sometimes when I can't remember I will check amazon's price while in the store or check the reviews of the movie here from the store.

Usually the price that's online is what it will probably ring up as in store. Unless it says online only, which I haven't seen to many things say that on the site.

I just checked again now and it's no longer saying online only now. But best buy never really carries a bunch of older movies in stock in large amounts so it was surprising to see it.

The menus could of been a bit better but it's the movie that counts!

Sometimes it does pay to wait, except in this case

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-T...-Blu-ray/1195/

but most other cases it does pay to wait. Although, people should snap up Fright Night 85 while they can!

Don't worry about what others think. Buy what you want. I buy what I want because I like it. I'm not worried about what anyone else thinks of the diversity of my movie collection.

Glad I waited on Ben Hur. I scored the Best Buy version of the UCE (with the figurine) on Thursday for $12.99. They had two left so I grabbed them both.

I chuckled to myself today because I was trying to find The French Connection but I knew I was not going to find it in best buy.

But yeah it does not bother me one bit, besides I had told the person I had just started buying blu movies like only 6 weeks ago.

Now I need to get some shelf's..

There's a reason why I never, ever purchase movies during their street date. Even waiting several weeks, you can get great deals on new release titles. Just picked up Lord of the Rings Extended Edition for $15. Grabbed Transformers Dark of the Moon for $15 and I got Stargate Atlantis Complete Series for $75.

+1 except that I would never even pay 1 cent for any of the Transformers films.

Don't sweat it too much! There is a reason why you buy the movies you buy, because you enjoy them and you like watching them. I only purchase the movies I enjoy and that I like watching. Many people have call my collection boring but it's not boring to me.

+1 for wanting "Tears of the Sun." I don't care what anyone says, that is one of the most underrated movies I've ever seen. Not only is it a good and powerful movie, but the blu-ray PQ and sound design is AMAZING. Some of the best surround sound I've heard. I only wish all blu-rays came with a PCM soundtrack. They're usually better than any DTS-MA or Dolby True HD that I've heard.

I buy WAY less than 1% of my DVDs/BDs at B&Ms. I can always find them less expensive online. It is EXTREMELY rare for me to buy from a place like Best Buy any longer!

Tears of the Sun is a great movie. One of the first I upgraded to BD when I made the switch from DVD. The war action is gripping, and the story is quite moving. It is an MPEG-2 transfer early generation BD, but it looks really nice.

But do you really consider Tears of the Sun an old movie? It was released in 2003.

I like to look at peoples collections here because I can't remember every movie and plus it lets me get curious.. My first Blu movie was Hostage.

I loved tears of the sun on DVD so I knew I was going to get it on blu just I was not sure when.. but Oh man the surround like you said is amazing.. Like when the guy got hit with the sniper.

I don't know if I have the sharpness turned up too high but the movie seems very high with grain?

I gotta get black hawk down as well.

The person in question was telling me old movies from like the 80's and older...
