United Kingdom Earth - The Power of the Planet (BBC)

I am a sucker for BBC documentaries. I found one on amazon.co.uk that is not available in the U.S. Does anybody know whether "Earth - The Power of the Planet" is region free? Here is the information:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Earth-Power-...240187&sr=8-12

I also came across another title named "The Great Rift" from BBC. Same question -- anybody know whether this is region free?

After digging around some, it appears that these BBC releases are region-free but encoded in 50hz, which almost certainly is not compatible with my Blu-Ray player (Sony BDP-S570) or TV (Sony KDL-40XBR5). Is anybody able to confirm that this title is encoded at 50hz?

I just happened to see "The Great Rift" on the HD Theater last night, after "The Wild Pacific". Looked good.

This has actually been released in the U.S. under a different name: "Earth: The Biography".

I'm glad you clarified that, as I already own Earth: The Biography!

It is also included in an upcoming release - Earth - The Box Set coming April 19, along with the documentary How the Earth Made Us.
