Anyone know if Reindeer Games will ever be released here in the States? date?

nope, thats the canadian alliance release. no us version....unfortunately!

I saw this movie on TV for the first time today. I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was. For years I had been hearing about how bad it was. I think I remember Kevin Smith teasing Ben Affleck about doing the film.

Anyways, I liked it and was looking into the Canadian release. I found out that not only is it heavily cropped, but it's also the theatrical cut only.

Fortunately, Lionsgate acquired the rights from Miramax instead Echo Bridge. That means that there's a good chance that it will be the correct aspect ratio. I just hope that they include the director's cut along with the theatrical.

It'd be fantastic if they released this in time for the 2011 holiday season.

EDIT: I just noticed that Lionsgate released their version of the director's cut on DVD back in April. I hope this means that the blu-ray is just around the corner.

From what I've read, the director's cut is much worse compared to the theatrical version. If LG does put this out on BD, let's hope they include both versions so everybody's happy.
