When George Lucas was making The Empire Strikes Back, he considered replacing James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader. He had a shortlist of actors in mind and had them come in to read for the part.

When Hulk Hogan showed up, he immediately impressed Lucas with his charisma. Hogan almost got the part until he read the critical line: "No…I am your father, brother!"

Lucas thought that might confuse people and stuck with Jones.
