I am new to the whole blu-ray thing and one thing is, everyone has different opinions and their favorite brands. If you are looking for a basic disc play only player, most likely the OPPO. I wanted something that had some extra features and had movie streaming and internet capabilities so I chose the LG BD570. After using it I fell in love with it. One thing though, after a week of use, I wanted more and learned (didn't even notice) that it had no on board storage, so I exchanged it for the BD590 that has the same features as the 570 like streaming with netflix, pandora, vudu and more plus an amazing built in 250 GB hard drive to boot....choice is yours, there are alot of good players out there. The OPPO seemed great, but I wanted the extra features....The 590 also allows you to rip music from cd's and store them on the hard drive.

Which is more important to you SACD or having a wifi on the player?
I would choose the SACD since I have a WAP for my HT already and just plug everything into it. The other thing to consider is that if you will be looking at 3D then neither of these players will do it for you. Which would mean another upgrade. |
