Default NASA Could Be Close To Proving The Existence Of A "Death Star" In Our Solar System

NASA Could Be Close To Proving The Existence Of A "Death Star" In Our Solar System

We've always assumed our sun was the only star in our solar system, but maybe not. We could be in a binary system, with a brown dwarf hiding in the Oort cloud. And it could be bombing us with comets.

The star, referred to as Nemesis, or "The Death Star," has been theorized for a while. But now NASA's new satellite, WISE, could be able to prove its existence for the first time. The theory was developed to explain the waves of mass extinctions on Earth, every 26 million years for the past 250 million years. Comets may be to blame for these die-offs — and the Death Star may be aiming them at us.

According to a new report over at AstroBio:

"Our solar system is surrounded by a vast collection of icy bodies called the Oort Cloud. If our Sun were part of a binary system in which two gravitationally-bound stars orbit a common center of mass, this interaction could disturb the Oort Cloud on a periodic basis, sending comets whizzing towards us.

An asteroid impact is famously responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, but large comet impacts may be equally deadly. A comet may have been the cause of the Tunguska event in Russia in 1908. That explosion had about a thousand times the power of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, and it flattened an estimated 80 million trees over an 830 square mile area."

Just the other day, a suicidal "sun-grazing" comet went flying into our sun in a death dive that NASA was able to observe as it happened.

So if we're able to prove that Nemesis does exist, and its irregular orbit around our own sun is causing regular comet attacks, then the next thing will be for our greatest defense experts, including Michael Bay, to come up with a plan to neutralize it. There has to be an unprotected vent on the thing somewhere.

Size comparison of our Sun, a low mass star, a brown dwarf, Jupiter, and Earth. Stars with less mass than the Sun are smaller and cooler, and hence much fainter in visible light. Brown dwarfs have less than eight percent of the mass of the Sun, which is not enough to sustain the fusion reaction that keeps the Sun hot. These cool orbs are nearly impossible to see in visible light, but stand out when viewed in infrared. Their diameters are about the same as Jupiter's, but they can have up to 80 times more mass and are thought to have planetary systems of their own.

Just great! Something else to keep me awake at night while sleeping under my bed.

Unless you sleep in a bunker.

I'm always fascinated about things out in space.

Ever have the feeling like the universe is out to get you? It's like a contract as been put on your life??

By the way, you know what they say...if there is lightning on Jupiter, there's thunder on Uranus

We can be "extincted" any day now. It's just a matter of chance. There are trillions of objects capable of doing just this. It's just a matter of its path intersecting with that of the Earth. No brown dwarf is required. So live every day as if tomorrow you will be liquified by a massive supersonic iceball, for one of these days you may be right.

I have been following this for a LONG TIME. Other names for this planetoid are Planet X or Nibiru. Which have a large cult following and will have you shaking your head for hours. They have constantly claimed this year it will come close to the earth and affect our orbital path, creating mass destruction ... yada...yada...yada. Since Planet X apparently has a extremely elliptical orbital path. Then when that year passes they make up a new year. For the most part its all hogwash.

But recently astronomers have been discovered a lot of bodies in the Kuipder Belt that we have never seen before. Which have resulted in the discover of new planets and even the demotion of Pluto as a planet. Also, Japanese scientist have created simulations which seem to indicate something is out there.

Japanese scientists eye mysterious 'Planet X'
http://www2.canada.com/topics/techno...c-12c3253f99b6

But this will all get resolved soon. On January 19, 2006 the first spacecraft mission to explore the Kuiper belt, New Horizons, was launched. The mission, headed by Alan Stern of the Southwest Research Institute, will arrive at Pluto on July 14, 2015 and, circumstances permitting, will continue on to study another as-yet undetermined KBO. Any KBO chosen will be between 25 and 55 miles (40 to 90 km) in diameter and, ideally, white or grey, to contrast with Pluto's reddish colour.[82] John Spencer, an astronomer on the New Horizons mission team, says that no target for a post-Pluto Kuiper belt encounter has yet been selected, as they are awaiting data from the Pan-STARRS survey project to ensure as wide a field of options as possible.[83] The Pan-STARRS project, due to come fully online by 2009,[84] will survey the entire sky with four 1.4 gigapixel digital cameras to detect any moving objects, from near-earth objects to KBOs.

So we will all know soon enough.
