United Kingdom Anyone hazard a guess as to why E4's THE INBETWEENERS isn't on Blu-ray?

OK, so I'm very embarassed to say this, but I had never even heard of this show before today (literally!) and I caught a butchered (i.e. censored) version on BBC America...it is HILARIOUS.

I stopped watching after four episodes and ordered the Series 1 & 2 UK DVD set immediately--I enjoyed it that much.

I'm just wondering if this was ever even shown in HD and if it is shot on film, HD video or PAL video? I'm just wondering if a Blu-ray of the series would be feasible at some point?

Series 2 has been shown on the Channel 4 HD channel in the UK, but according to the wikipedia page for the series it was shot in standard definition (576i). Presumably it was simply upscaled for broadcast on Channel 4HD.

Along the same lines i'd like to know why "Skins" hasn't been made available on Blu-ray, but is available to buy in HD from iTunes

I cant think of any channel 4/E4 programme that has made it onto BD. The only UK tv channel that seems to know BD exist is the BBC and then they only do nature programs and Doctor Who related series

I've noticed the same thing. The other thing I have noticed is that the Blu-rays 4dvd has put out have ranged from acceptable to very poor (HD DVD ports and 1080i transfers abounded), so maybe 4dvd don't have a handle on the format yet?

And I also saw the PAL info on Wikipedia, but obviously I'd like to get a confirmation from a reliable source.

They do seem to be increasing their blu output with recent series - Gavin and Stacey, Being Human and Wallander are recent examples.
