Default Bought a New Home - NEW HOME THEATER!!!!

Hey,

Pretty excited, first about buying our first home, and secondly -- about the opportunity to setup our Home Theater there (without that damn toddler gate!)

See the current HT Gallery photos for reference

So,

Anyone have any recommendations on who to call in the Boston, MA area for quotes and assistance in setting up a Home Theater for a decent budget?

Here is what we are looking to do:

We currently have a full 7.1 Surround Sound system with a 40" HDTV, and since we will have a new living room suitable for a proper Home Theater setup we wanted to know if any -- local to Boston MA - Home Theater companies offer services that cater to folks like us who already have the equipment, but would like it installed elegantly in our home. I am interested in hearing what options are available. Here is a breakdown of what we have:

* Sony KDL-40XBR4 HDTV
* Pioneer ELITE VSX-37TX THX 7.1 Receiver
* Pioneer ELITE A-35R to power the Surround Back Speakers
* Cambridge Soundworks Speakers:
- Powered and Slave 12" Subwoofer
- Center Channel Plus
- Ensemble II Speakers
- 2 sets of Surround 5.1 speakers for 7.1 Surround Sound
* A Sony PS3 -- For Blu-ray and games...It is loud, so we would like to put it in an enclosure that dampens the fan sound
* Panamax M5400-PM Power Conditioner
* DirecTV HD DVR

Ideally we would like to wall-mount the HDTV, hang the speakers with hidden wiring, and hide the equipment out of the way.

Thanks for your thoughts!

You are right ...

Had this stuff since 1997, this time I'd like it done professionally though -- at least the wiring and what-not. I will NEVER stop calibrating on my own of course

Congrats..... I would think a general contractor would be able to do everything you need.... it's just cutting some holes and fishing some wires...... You would have to determine placement, but it would cheaper than an A/V store would quote you I'm sure..... so just find out where you want everything, and have someone 'handy' do the work

cool...lets see pics of the new room. I understand it's not settled yet...but that will help get a feel for the place. IMO..setup should be something simple you can do for yourself minus any construction/remodeling.

Yeah speakers are from then, but they are fine for the size room we have had, and will have -- for now. Our receiver is one of the first Pioneer ELITE THX Surround EX receivers, but works great too! I expect that I will upgrade that to a modern receiver someday, but I am pretty happy with it.

I am a BIG BELIEVER in getting value for my dollar, and 13+ years of use later, the money I originally invested in our Home Theater equipment has DEFINITELY been well spent!

Basically, my plan is to have it all elegantly installed in our new home -- with the wires and equipment conveniently tucked away. It is time I put the extra cash into that IMHO.

BTW: The other thing I REALLY LIKE about our setup is the two 12" Subs! You don't see those so much these days due to the "wife-factor" -- The one which demands Home Theater equipment be smaller and less obtrusive to the rest of the decor! Fortunately for me, my wife likes the sound that these speakers produce...Thank God for that!
