United Kingdom What sites that you're using to check UK disc specifications?

I think it's really hard to find any good sites that have proper details for UK discs, especially audio specs and special features stuff like that, any sites that you've been using and want to recommend? I'm using blu-ray.com, dvdcompare.net ... but seemed like they don't have enough information for UK discs...

Big thanks in advance...

http://www.dvdcompare.net is pretty good too, you can search a movie and compare the various blu-ray releases worldwide to see which one has the best PQ,AQ, etc.

None that I know of, I'm afraid. Can't help ya, mate. Is there a specific title you're looking for? If I've got it, I could probably take a snap.

Thanks but i am not looking for anything special. Just want to see whats on the back cover before buying. Because sometimes the UK version does not have the same features as the US releases. Its a shame there is no site showing back covers of overseas releases

Oh the UK New Moon Blu ray backcover would be very interesting to see

Here's the DVD back cover...

I love how it has the exact same layout of my 2-Disc Twilight DVD.

Correct me if I'm wrong but for all the region free releases can't you just look at the US specs? I don't think that they would change features (though I'm pretty sure they have) because wouldn't it cost more to make 2 different region free titles, might as well lock them if you're going to go through all that trouble.

So you'd really only need a site for Fox and Disney releases. Am I right?

That's not always the case as some studios have rights to release in a certain market, others internationally. That can mean even though the title is region free in both areas (depending on which studio is responsible for releasing it), the special features or the specs can vary.

For instance, I own the UK 30 Days of Night. It's released by Icon in the UK as opposed to Sony in the US. The special features are identical, however the US version has Dolby TrueHD audio and the UK has DTS-HD MA.

For every single title I buy I always do a high quality scan of both the front and back cover and submit it to the database, either for addition if it's not listed or to update the entry so it's fully spec'd. When I submit an entry it always has absolutely everything including video and audio codecs, aspect ratio, subtitles, region, release date, rating, studio, runtime, year of release, number of discs and summary.

With any luck as more people do the same the database of UK titles will grow. Check out my collection if you're curious and you might see a title you are interested in. They will have complete specs for all of them.

i am also searching for similar site that have scans of BLU RAY back covers of UK BR....

for example Lord of the Rings BLU RAY, the UK specs have not been confirmed yet, what exact audio will be used by EIV. All other countries have confirmed DTS MA 6.1 with screen shots of their packaging...

Yeah it really sucks there is no site that shows the backcover for UK blu rays. I guess best site at the moment in dvdtimes.co.uk. That lists whats on most of the new titles

I'm working on making a site with UK TV-series releases (www.TVSeriesOnBluRay.eu), which include info. on audio, subtitles and special features. I also include medium res. scans of the back cover when I have them. It is still fairly new and doesn't have everything yet, but I'm getting there
