United Kingdom Anatomy of a Fall (Anatomie d'une chute) (Justine Triet, January 2024)

Looks very interesting. Lions Gate I think. It's certainly won a lot of awards https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17009710/awards/

That was very good. Great cast.

[Show spoiler]Was that brutal scene with the dog a CGI or practical effect? Quite shocking. The BBFC have banned The Abyss so **** knows how that got through if it was a real dog.

If that's a true representation of French criminal courts I can't believe France gifted the Statue of Liberty to the USA No sub judice, lots of hearsay, rampant "feelings" and "thoughts" and witnesses running their mouths with no check on what they say. A total ****ing legal pantomime.

Damn fine film didn't really buy the MacGuffin
[Show spoiler]dog ate my homework ending
but it ended well.

8/10

Looks to have artcards. No sign of it yet on their site https://shop.plaionpictures.com/search?search=Anatomie just the DVD and Blu-ray. They'll be ramping up to the Oscars.

I can't see LG doing a 4K and as most of us need the subtitles there's not much hope.

This film has been living rent-free in my head it seeing it.

I haven't seen this yet, but I thought it was fun that Messi the border collie (who plays Snoop) was at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon. He already won the Palm Dog at Cannes:

Unfortunately, Pete Hammond's article may have unintentionally caused me to see a spoiler about the film.

The artwork is a sort of spoiler I suppose but not in reality. I usually read nothing about films before seeing them anyway.

Love that the dog is getting props it deserves it

Don't really like this Vertigo knock-off cover. Will stick with the regular version. I don't think we will see a 4K release. Would need to be a much bigger film and win some Oscars like Parasite or AQOTWF.

This was also the UK poster. The DVD features the body artwork.

Based on Triangle of Sadness (and other Lionsgate and Picturehouse releases, and other territories releasing the film, I expect it will be barebones.

Seen plenty of people on Twitter criticising the Criterion art. They could have gone with the crude diagram.

What in the world is this monstrosity? Might as well turn it upside down then, just for shits and giggles.

That new artwork is certainly different but it may be playing with the story a bit too much (of course I've seen it). The brains all over the snow seems to have been the most used image world-wide.

For those who think it's terrible don't worry there's worse:

https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/anatomy-...0000169876799/

Criterion looks OK but unless it's a 4K I'll likely stick with the UK. We'll see.
