Exclamation pioneer players?

Are they any good...and which one is the newer model? Would you guys reccommend going with Pioneer or should I just stick with Sony or Panasonic?
Thanks

I'm obviously pro Pioneer, but with good reason. Professional tests have shown the Pio to have the best picture, standard 2 year warranty, consistent firmware upgrades. The 94HD is the current model. I have no interest in profile 1.1 players, but you do have to take that into consideration and is why most suggest the PS3 and I wouldn't argue.

Pioneer can't send the 1.1 in an upgrade...so you think Pioneer is the best?

Profile 1.1 isn't just a FW upgrade for the Pioneers (and most pre-1.1 players): amongst other things, dual decoders are required, as is a certain amount of non-volatile local storage. Good luck doing that in a FW update! :-)

(I believe the PS3 has enough CPU horse power to do the dual decoder thing in software, hence it should be upgradable to Profile 1.1 with justa FW update.)

I've not critially viewed either model, but I think the Pioneer Elite has the edge in quality (so it'd be my likely first choice). It would be pretty hard to argue, however, that the PS3 doesn't provide better bang for your buck.

For work I have used an early Pioneer (model unkown), a Philips bdp 9000, a Samsung BDP 1000, a Sony BDP s1 and the PS3. I can tell you that the Pioneer player was by far the worst for what I do. The menu system and remote are horrible. They all seem to play movies fine though.

pioneer is nice but over priced. I have a phillips bdp9000 bd-player for sale 375.00 paid 900.00+tax only because my wife bought me a PS3,and i like video games. Etherwise I would keep the philly the picture is sooooo nice.
