Ok so have this tv a week now picture quality is awesome not even a hint of backlight bleeding as was a problem with other models but I have noticed that in bright scenes there are dark patches blotted around the screen the image is still visable behind the patches its best discribed as shadowed out, anyone know what it could be?

I also just purchased the UN55C8000 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED HDTV and up to this point I like/love it except..............I have tremendous lag in sound. It's to the point where I can't take it anymore. I don't have this problem watching Blu's but when watching a Direct TV signal, there is so much lip lag. To the point I don't even want to watch TV. As you can see by my sig, I have an "older" set-up and nothing to sneeze at. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can correct this issue?

Default Sound lag

Had the same problem with the sound lag but I only have it when watching bluray on ps3 Ive actually organised for it to be returned today as it was my second c8000 with problems first had awful screen uniformity it had dark blotches all over the screen.Going back to normal lcd until led is well established.

check lip sync and the frequency on your receiver. you may just need to adjust that. when i got my 1019 the lips/sound was way off.. just changed it and it matches up perfect

Default Lag

Junior, that's exactly what I did and the sync is perfect. Such a simple little tweek. Thanks for the advice.............it worked.

Another note, it's unbelievable how far off the factory default settings are. After calibrating, this is the finest picture I have ever seen. I encourage anyone who owns this set or any set that has the capabilities to tweek, to just do it. You won't be sorry. Unbelievable on how I was happy with my "close" to default settings.
It's funny how the showrooms set their overall picture and how the factory default settings are so far off from the "true" overall look. I guess most consumers like the dynamic non realistic heavy color look. To each his own!

Other than the off axis viewing issues this is a wonderful tv. I have seen a few of these sets have the flashlight effect but its not an issue on every set.
