I know that some titles come out here in the States or overseas due to licensing rights, so I was wondering if someone could post a list or two of blu-ray titles in the UK and/or Europe that are not out in the USA.
Here are some examples: UK blu-rays: Highlander Ipcress File Italian Job Zulu France blu-rays: Subway (Luc Besson) German blu-rays: Chinese Ghost Story 1,2,3 Reflecting Skin |

There's a fair amount to be honest, but probably more that are out in the US but not in Europe. Bridget Jones's Diary, Trainspotting, Walk the Line (though not for long!), Withnail and I, Wolf Creek, Basic Instinct 2 (though is available in Canada), and The Red Shoes are a couple off the top of my head... |

Stardust was just released in the UK and is region free.
it was supposed to be released in the U.S. for a Dec., 2007 date, but never materialized. Directed by Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake), Stardust stars Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert DeNiro, Ricky Gervais, Sienna Miller and Peter O'Toole. You can pick it up at Amazon UK for £12.98. |

It's a sad thing, in my opinion.
![]() Even though I have a region free Blu-Ray player, it'd be nice to have everything come out at the same time in each country...just my personal opinion. However, some U.K. companies are giving the discs much better transfers than what some of the U.S. companies would give it. For Eden Lake, Optimum Home gave it one of the best horror transfers I've see on Blu-Ray. I'd have no confidence in the Weinstein Company making a better or even close to the U.K.'s disc quality. Not just because of their financial problems, but because their Blu-Ray transfers they have aren't too great. |

One of the best being
"Strange Days" which you can order at amazon.de. It includes an English DTS HD Master Audio Track or "Fanboys" another great German release (but you can get that one in Canada... only that one is minus all the extras) "Tora, Tora, Tora" the extended Japanese Cut Hamburger Hill (nice UK Release) The following are 2 German Releases of Seagal Films.. Maybe not great movies but still: Submerged Today you Die While we are talking Seagal.. IN the Uk you get Kill Switch Mercenary for Justice If I think of more I'll let you guys know |

A posted earlier linked to a thread about movies being available in UK but not US. I think to include all of Europe makes it a whole 'nother ballgame. I don't think any of these have been mentioned but I might have missed one or two:
Running Scared (Germany) Rob Roy (Germany) An American Crime (Germany) Almost Famous Extended Edition (UK) Pulp Fiction (France, Poland, Scandinavia) Jackie Brown (NL, France) These are all English language U.S. made films that are available in Europe but not the US. There are several HK movies that are available in the UK but not the US. Some have been listed already in this thread. |
