Default Is it worth it?

I had my eyes on the Optoma HD20 for a while, but now im starting to see the reviews on the Epson 8100 and the Panasonic 4000u so im stuck, it looks like the Panny gives the best PQ but is it worth 1,000 more bucks. Im all about the bang for my buck, and if there is very little difference im going to go with the more cost efficient PJ. I take in consideration, bulb life, PQ, Ease of use. Not really worried about lighting being that a few curtains can fix that problem easily!

This is the easiest projector to find on display because BB sells them. I suggest you go take a look at it.

I was considering this projector until I got a demo and I did not like the black levels or the white levels. I am not sure how they had it set up but they had a clip from a hockey game and the whites looked very dingy to me.
