Default Just Need Sound Now (HELP)

I have my HDTV, I have my Blu-ray player and I am building my movie collection back up (but in Blu), but I haven't bought a sound system in years. I am not even hooking my current system up because I know it's worthless. I am always drawn to the HTIB's because of their prices and EVERYTHING is in the box even though it might not be top quality everything. If I had to buy a HTIB what is the best one under $1000. If I chose to piece it together what is the best setup I could afford under $1000. It just seems so hard to buy a receiver, speakers, and sub for under $1000. Any advice? Do I need to run wires or can I go wireless and not lose too much sound? The only way to run wires in my house in in the ceiling.
