Default Best and most elaborate box sets

I just bought the new Harry potter wizard collection and couldn't be happier with how amazing the actual box is and all the extra stuff and collectibles that are in it. This had me thinking... What are box sets somewhat similar? There may be some gems out there I'm not aware of. Any suggestions?

One of the very first mainstream movies I'd gotten on Blu-ray was the Harry Potter 1-5 Hogwarts Trunk.
I know there "better" editions of HP1-5 out by now, but I just don't want to give up having the movie in official Hogwarts "textbook" cases. I still dream of seeing them put out Textbook cases for 6, 7A & 7B3D, just for completion.

How about we resurrect the boxsets pictures thread for this discussion?

There are a lot of nice comprehensive boxsets out there, not including all of the many many many trilogy boxsets. A few come to mind:

Planet of the Apes
Star Wars
Stanley Kubrick Master Collection
Mel Brooks Collection
Alfred Hitchcock Collection
Bond 50
Dirty Harry Collection
Deadwood The Complete Series
Band of Brothers/The Pacific HBO Collection
Star Trek The Original Motion Picture and Next Generation Collections
The Twilight Zone Complete Series
Lost The Complete Series
America The Lost and Found: The BBS Story
Clint Eastwood Director's Collection

All of them are fantastic sets to own.

There's not a whole lot (really nothing) that's as comprehensive and fully loaded as the Harry Potter Collection, not by a longshot.

The Puppet Master Trunk is pretty sweet.

The Hellraiser DVD box set with the cube was cool too.

Not a movie, but DIABLO III collectors edition had some really neat stuff in it.

I really like the way the "Star Wars" saga was packaged, though the book-style pages are a little annoying at times. The ultimate editions for "Harry Potter" are very well done, and the extended "Lord of the Rings" box is awesome!

I was never a fan of the show but this is amazing. They did a great job on this collection.

Hell, that packaging makes me want to start watching Lost just so I have a reason to buy it.

who What Where How?

I own the LOST set....had not watched season 5 and 6 and just wanted that box! Now I kinda regret it, cuz I thought the last season sucked major donkey azz. And the set is not easy to put on a shelf. The outer box it was packaged in was lovely as well, and I even kept it....

I like my Blade Runner briefcase more than anything else in my collection in terms of packaging.

I'm surprised no one is mentioning these sets; they are all very beautiful:

Casablanca
The Wizard of Oz
Gone With the Wind
The Sound of Music
Titanic (just got it and like it, even if it doesn't have any good memorabilia)

I still really want:

The Goonies
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Ben-Hur
The Ten Commandments

Wish I had the money for:

Bond 50
Harry Potter Wizards Collection
Alfred Hitchcock Collection
Stanley Kubrick Collection

Still plan on getting:

Indiana Jones (if it's considered a "box" set)
Avengers Phase One (whenever it comes out)
Lawrence of Arabia
Harold and Kumar Collection
ET (if it doesn't remain sold out or go way up in price)

Funny, I got that set too and had to put all of them in individual amaray cases then print off the official cover art for them all respectively as well. That packaging was six shades of vile!

I have that HP set too!, got it for $25 at BB 2 years ago. I even added the remaining movies to it (by removing the foam and bookmarks) so they could all be in one place

Regarding what EricJ said, aren't the movies included the same transfers as the individual releases, or have they been updated since the set was released?

i'd have to say i prefer simple, accessible, regular blu ray case anytime. movies that get packed into a boxset rarely get any airtime with me
