![]() ![]() I'm new to the whole Blu-Ray PC setup.. Below are my system specs: Motherboard: Asus Striker Extreme nVidia 680i SLI CPU: Intel Quad Core Q6600 8MB Cache Video Card: Asus EN8800ULTRA/HTDP/768M/A GeForce 8800 ULTRA 768MB DDR3 PCI Express, HDTV HDCP Optical Drive: Sony Blu-Ray Burner BUW-100A HP HP100 HD-DVD External Drive Monitor: Dell 30" 3007WFP-HC Vista Ultimate 32Bit with nVidia Forceware 163.69. PowerDVD Ultra v7.3 I'm trying to play Blu-Ray & HD DVD movies on my PC but i can't. I run PowerDVD and try to play a movie and all i get is this message "Fail to enable HDCP. Please switch to analog output (VGA, D-Sub) and try again. (Error Code = 0110)" in both BD & HD. I have no idea what that is.. i tried researching the internet for some answers but couldnt find anything. One site recommended that i install ****** HD and i did... and when its enabled i can only run HD DVD movies which ran smooth and problem free. But still get the same error when running Blu-Ray movies with ****** HD enabled. A scan on the Cyberlink Advisor gives me all green lights (in both BD/HD) except a gray light (which means unknown) next to the graphics card which is the nVidia GeForce 8800 Ultra and RED light (which means NO) next to the Video Connection Type saying : "Digital (Without HDCP)". I'm very frustrated and sad and i now currently have a useless blu-ray drive which i bought for a lot of money sitting in my PC doing nothing and i'm very anxious to watch my humble collection of 20 BD/HD movies that i own. Please help me with your knowledge and expertise. I beg you. Thanx in advance. Last edited by Blue; 10-14-2007 at 01:34 AM. Reason: Problem solved so references to the Diagnostic Tool removed |

Is this a Dell PC or did you cobble this together yourself from parts at Frys?

Are you sure the monitor and the graphics card are connected via a DVI cable. That's a requirement for HDCP.

Worst case scenario, if all else fails, you could you use ******* from ***** to remove HDCP from the movies. This way HDCP compatibility will be a non-issue.
Of course, you'd have to run that for all the movies you'll view on your pc, but it's not that time consuming. Last edited by Blue; 10-14-2007 at 01:35 AM. Reason: Problem solved so references to the Diagnostic Tool removed |

Firstly I would remove one of the HD dirves. As you said the HD-DVD was external, that would be the obvious one. What resolution are you running the card at? If greater than 1920x1080 set your resolution to that and see if it works, if it does try 1920x1200, I don't think Power DVD will work at a higher resolution.
Don't forget to set the monitor to native aspect ratio |

You mean RIP the movies to my HDD using ***** HD ?? But thats not a solution. Each movie takes about 60-90 minutes to be ripped to the HDD..
If you didn't mean Ripping the movies, then i've tried ***** HD with playing an HD DVD movie using PowerDVD and it worked. But Blu-Ray didnt work. It still gives me the Failed to enable HDCP error. So for removing HDCP, I'm pretty sure you just have to run the application and it removes HDCP while you're watching the movie. Last edited by Blue; 10-14-2007 at 01:37 AM. Reason: Problem solved so references to the Diagnostic Tool removed |

Yes im aware of the functions of ****** HD and its ability to remove the protection on-the-fly. I did it with the HD-DVD movies and it WORKED.
Now i want to do it with the Blu-Ray movies but its NOT working.. Having it enabled and running PowerDVD still gives me that darn "failed to enable HDCP" error. Please help. Last edited by Blue; 10-14-2007 at 01:37 AM. Reason: Problem solved so references to the Diagnostic Tool removed |

Here, check this link below for more info regarding **** HD:
****************** Link Removed - Blue I was right, no need to rip any movies. Watch Blu-rays (or HD DVD's) without the need for HDCP compliant monitors or video cards. So, this may be the right solution for you. Last edited by Blue; 10-14-2007 at 01:40 AM. Reason: Problem Solved so references to the Diagnostic Tool removed |
