Paul Anderson's best film finally coming out in the UK

A superb cast star in cult director Paul W.S.Anderson's (Alien Vs. Predator, Resident Evil) controversial and relentless journey into a futuristic world of ram-raiding and joy-riding.

Free from prison, teenage tearaway Billy (Jude Law) teams up with soul mate Jo (Sadie Frost) and sets out to reclaim his title as ram-raider numero uno. But while he's been inside, gang rival Tommy (Sean Pertwee) has taken over Billy's turf and before long the two vicious, young hoodlums are locked bumper to bumper in a violent high-speed battle for supremacy.

Shopping is an adrenaline-rushed movie depicting youth disillusionment, street subculture and the fatal consequences of joy-riding.

This re-release is taken from a brand new fully restored hi-definition master.

Don't mind the first, it's a good mindless popcorn movie. Cannot stand the rest, but my wife likes them so I have sat through them all and given shelf space to the DVDs.
Husband of Year nomination for that alone.

Finally watched this today, good Brit flick. Little surprised not more about it on forums or lists etc, thought it was good quality with good actors with a slight exception to Sadie Frost.

This is a lie. Or as dvdcompare.net puts it:

The film, presented in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio, opens with the old Polygram logo and looks to be from an aged videotape-era master. The promotional material suggests that the release uses a ‘brand new fully restored hi definition master’, but as with the recent release of Killing Zoe this clearly isn’t the case. Perhaps there has been some kind of administrative mix-up, as this presentation displays the ‘clipped’, flattened contrast of VHS era masters, with highlights being blown out and detail lost in the shadows. (This has a concomitant effect on the skin tones, with many of the actors looking sickly throughout.) In fact, there's little to no difference between the Blu-ray release and Fabulous Films' accompanying DVD release of the title.
