Default Speaker re-edging

Hello guys, I have a set of Yamaha speakers I've been owning for at least 10 years now, and the edging around the woofers have deteriorated to the point where there is very little left. Probably 75 % of it has fallen off already.
I've contacted Yamaha for a possible replacement set of woofers, but of course they are too old, and no parts are available.
I looked into possibly buying a re-edge kit and doing it myself, but I spoke to someone at a local electronics store who advised me not to do it because I could mess up the speakers and ruin them. I think he just wanted to try and sell me some new ones.
My question to you knowledable folks is, do any of you know of a reputable place that I could send my woofers to have them re-edged, or should I scratch the idea and purchase new ones? I really like my speakers and would love to keep them, but if it's going to cost an arm and a leg it may not be worth it.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
