Interesting Serenity observation - Blu-ray Forum

It seems that universal is coming out with a new feature packed release of serenity... I thought understanding was a pretty good seller for HD-DUD, however they are not releasing the special version on HD-DUD, only DVD...

Is there a hidden message in this decision someplace?

Well I'd think so, seeing the numbers being sold of hd dud not many people would end up picking it up again for hd dud.

The numbers on ANY HD media are too small to justify a double dip

PLEASE buy the DVD version of it, Our Lord Whedon shall use the sale figures to try to get at least a direct to video sequel going. He says he's buying a case himself just to help the cause

Damn, I wish a BD studio had Serenity somewhere in the world.

I've ordered Bruce Almighty from the UK. The smug satisfaction of owning a top 10 Universal box office title on Blu-ray makes it worth the extra cost.

I found out about Firefly after Serenity was released. I watched one episode and bought the series on DVD and then Serenity. This is another great series like Weeds and it's a shame it was cancelled. I think Whedon could raise the money just from the fans alone. I heard something like half a million copies of the series were sold on dvd.
