Default LG BH100 and The Dark Knight

My parents have an LG BH100 Combo Player and it will not play The Dark Knight, it gets passed the first trailer then goes to a loading screen, it just stood there for about 5 minutes and did nothing. I put it in my PS3 and it went through that same loading screen in less than 5 seconds. Anyone else using the BH100 having similar issues?

Loading depand on players. The S350 for example took about 40 seconds. and it's a fast standalone.. Since it's a first gen player i'am pretty sure it's Ultra Slow

I personally don't have your bluray/HD-DVD combo player...but all you need is a software update....try this out

https://www.blu-ray.com/firmware/firmware.php?id=17

As far as I can tell this is the newest version, you might have to refer to your Player's Manual in how to update...usually it's just burn to cd, put cd in, then let the player update....it might be different with yours...good luck!

That's what I was thinking but it was seriously a six minute wait before I decided to give up, I guess I'll try it again tomorrow and leave it in there and see if it ever takes.

Default Not Just "The Dark Knight"

I'll check my copy of The Dark Knight shortly, but it's not just that title that the BH100 is having problems with.

The European version of Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull will not let you move past the initial "Select a language" screen, all you get is the Red "No Go" symbol.

I emailed LG UK customer support, and they told me it must be a fault with my player.

But I imported the US version of the film, and that plays perfectly.

I would suggest to anyone thinking of buying the European Indy 4 disc (pictured on the right), to import the American one instead (pictured on the left).

Alternatively, if you load up the November 2007 firmware (071101a) from the LG website, it will let you watch the disc.....but won't let you watch certain other titles.

I have the most recent version of firmware currently loaded (080624a)-June 2008.

I gave it another go and left it to load for over 30 minutes and still nothing. So pretty much The Dark Knight will not play on the BH100

Well I've just tried my copy, and it took just over a minute for the white spinning disc symbol to complete loading up the disc, then it went straight into play without any trouble.

I notice you are in the states, maybe (like Indy 4), there is a difference in authoring between the U.K version & the U.S one, except this time in my favour.

I'm using a British bought BH-100, with the British Warner Home Video 2-disc edition of "The Dark Knight".

It may also be that your disc is slightly damaged / faulty and although the PS3 plays it fine, your BH-100 is struggling to read all the data properly.

I have the same problem dark night will not play on my bh-100 it is most likely because of the wide and full screen modes in the blu-ray considering this movie does both but thats just a stab in the dark.

Is your ethernet cable hooked up? If it is disconnect it and also go in your menu and tell it not to download extras (If it can...I speaking from the reference point of owning a LG-BH200 it plays everything I've thrown at it so far). The only time I have a problem with loading (because it has been a very fast loader ever since they updated it a few years ago) is when the ethernet cable is connected - its trying to download extra content ect. from the internet. I hate the entire BDLive thing so I just disconnect my cable and I haven't had a problem since. I remember when I first bought Ironman and the servers got hammered. I was waiting for 30 miniutes (with my standalone and my PC, but the PC clued me to what was happening). I unplugged my ethernet and the move promptly started on my PC in a matter of seconds. I then stopped it and tried it on my standalone - unplugged the ethernet and presto....it came right up.
