I think that one pretty much answers the question of the topic. He even got an Oscar for it.

Edited to add: Then there's Nicholcas Cage in Adaptation... Gotta say, I think that's an even better performance than Lee Marvin's.

Maybe I'll come across as a big ole grouch here, but I don't understand why these kinds of threads, which asks for the best of something, or your favourite of something, tend to very quickly devolve into people just throwing out anything that fits within the category being asked for.

I mean, all due respect to the multi-role performances of Cheech and Chong, Jim Varney, Eddie Murphy, and Jack Black... but they're nothing compared to those of Lee Marvin, Alec Guiness, Buster Keaton, Nicolas Cage or Peter Sellers.
