Default Nvidia 580 and 570 Your thoughts?

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6284938...ks%3Btitle%3B5

Heres a little preview on the 570.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-580-review/19

Heres one on the 580.

Looks like I'll be holding off on both since the 580 is still about on par with or worse then the 5970.

580 compared to the 480 is def. a step in the right direction but i think ATI is going to take the performance crown with the high end 6k series given that the 580 cant fully beat the 5970

Why wait... while PC gonna have Console ports for at least the next 3 years. GTX 580 can run any games at 2560x1600. The only moment that PC gaming will rush again is when console generation change and the first port see the light

Yeah this should have been what the 480 was. Even though ATI will take the cake with the 6 hopefully this puts Nvidia back on track.

I actually might get the 580 if ATI plays the games they did with supplying cards like with the 5970.

Best deal I've seen for a 5970
http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeo...1828309&sr=8-2

499.99 I'm actually thinking about buying it.

If you're sensible to noise, don't it's on par or worst than GTX 480

Guess you haven't heard my 1.1kw psu boot up it sounds like someone started a tractor ... But yeah as good a price as it is I guess I can sit on my hands till the 6 launch because if its better and more available then thats probably the better choice. As I said just a post ago I will be majorly POed if ATI screws us with poor availability they should be taking advantage of having a better product and trying to get it in as many hands as possible.

the other reason i cant run a single nvidia card is because i run 3 screens (1920x1080 times 3 thus my crazy resolution) and for nvidia you have to have a pair of cards in SLI for 3 screens. ATI will do it from 1 card but realistically you need 2 for performance reasons

That aside, gaming on 3 screens is super bad@ss. Gives you a wider field of view so like in a first person shooter the middle screen is whats in front of you and then on the others you see whats to your left and right. Racing games are pretty cool too

Anyone looking for a video card at this point might as well wait till the high end 6k series come out, they are looking pretty promising and if nothing else they should drive the prices down on current cards

oh and supersix4

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-887-_-Product

Same price but you get a $30 rebate ontop of that price, dunno if the one from amazon has that as well. At that price point 2 6870's or 2 GTX 470's are something to consider as well

I hate waiting even if its just till next week not sure if its true but from what I've read online the 6970 is going to be under $500 which would be crazy even if its only marginally better then the 5970. Hopefully they truly do have enough to go around for next week.

I wonder why BFGtech stopped doing cards I haven't seen any of their cards since like the 8800 series.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
On May 21, 2010, John Slevin the chairman of BFG Technologies, announced that they would no longer be developing graphics cards, as it was not profitable for them.

As of August 2010, BFG is in the process of liquidation, initially only for the GPU business but eventually expanded to include the entire company. As a result of this, BFG is not honoring RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) requests for warranty service, repair, or replacement any longer, instead returning the product to the customer with a short letter explaining the situation.....The BFG brand name and certain assets of the company were subsequently acquired by Best Data, who also owns the Diamond Multimedia brand.
That's a bummer (speaking as an unhappy Diamond card owner).

That what's i tought... Yeah i know it's badass , but my gaming rig is connected to my projector with a 106' screen so it's big enought (altought not as wide).

When is that coming out and yeah someone else already posted that.

NVM I see it got pushed to Q1 2011. So Nvidia is doing a two core card as-well.

Gonna be hard for nvidia to do a dual gpu card given that their current single gpu nearly maxes the PCIE power limit specs

Myself, im going to probably replace my 2 5770's with 2 6970's when they are out assuming they turn out decent

Yeah I don't know that I can justify even 1 6990 especially if we are just now hoping the 6970 will be sub 500... I think thats about as much as I want to spend upgrading unless I really get back into computers (which I doubt)

The 5770 played crysis pretty well for what I went in expecting, so I figure 1 580 gtx, 5970, or 6970 should be plenty for a single display set up.

yeah def. any one of those is enough for a single 1080p screen even the 570 is a pretty good deal.

5760x1080 is just a whole nother animal lol

I'd consider dual or triple screens but I'm just not sure right now .

its pretty crazy for gaming, but you need some serious gpu power to run it, i wont even launch crysis anymore as it runs that terribly lol.

Games aside i like have 3 screens, i like to multitask alot and use the 3 screens on a regular basis and even if i wasnt gaming after having used 3 i dont want any less lol.

Expensive as heck too, my 3 Dell U2311H's were $780, then you figured another $800 in video cards, a good $200 Power supply to run them etc

Doubles as a space heater in the winter (legit, i leave my computer on 247 and keep my bedroom door closed and its a good 5-8 degrees warmer haha)
