Do you guys have pairs of songs that you always play in conjunction? I call these song couplets.
For example, whenever I listen to "Maggot Brain" by Funkadelic, I always follow it up with "Cortez the Killer" by Neil Young. And always in that order, too, not vice-versa. Maybe they're even two songs by the same artist. Here are some of my other examples, check 'em out: "Chest Fever" (Band) and "The Pusher" (Steppenwolf) "Marquee Moon" (Television) and "Cowgirl in the Sand" (Neil Young) "Heard It Through the Grapevine" (CCR) and "Section 43" (Country Joe and the Fish) "She's Not There" (Zombies) and "In My Life" (Beatles) [electric piano in middle of each...] "Somebody to Love" (Jefferson Airplane) and "Alone Again Or" (Love) "House of the Rising Sun" (Animals) and "Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon" (Urge Overkill) "Dreams" (Allman Brothers) and "Whipping Post" (Allman Brothers) [last 2 tracks on their debut, actually] Last edited by wilky61; 05-16-2010 at 12:20 AM. Reason: Uh, Chest Fever is not a Doors song...lol... |
