Setting on sony bdp-s370

I bought the s370 a couple weeks ago...its a very good player....if i turn it on when my tv is off...it automatically turns the tv on...or if i turn it on when im watching tv it automatically goes to hdmi and to the player....This is a pretty cool option...but yesterday i had my tv flipped to av cable as i was going to hdmi but had to turn the player on to have it show up...well it turned the tv off then back on and my tv was stuck...i had to unplug the tv and then everything was ok...Just on m wondering as this option is nice i would rather be able to turn my player on and it not mess with my tv...i be the one that manually goes to the hdmi with the source button on my remote...Any idea how i can change the setting?

I have a newer 55" samsung lcd 1080p 120hz that the sony player is hooked to..Thanks for any help And is there a thread for the s370 i cant seem to find it also.
