Question now is, like the NHL GameCenter Live, does this NFL Sunday Ticket also screw those who follow a local team? Or do they not have any blackout BS going on?
Example... Living in Vancouver, being a Canucks fan, and paying for NHL GameCenter is a complete waste since the games are broadcast locally. And, since I don't want any TV content other than Canucks hockey, I'm forced to either pay $80+/month for cable or not watch them at all. This is really starting to chap my ass! They need to start providing affordable all-inclusive services for local sports franchises. Cable TV is ad-nauseum (see what I did there? ![]() Will NFL Sunday Ticket do the same? Or will it actually show all of the games regardless of geography? Be certain to check this out specifically before subscribing. I know that a lot of people got swindled by the NHL GameCenter Live service because of the lack of clarification on the matter of blackout restrictions. |

I have directv, and Sunday ticket is wonderful. The reason they can charge 300 is because hardcore fans such as myself will pay without regrets. I literally haven't watched a commercial during the regular season for three years, and I've seen nearly every fantastic play within seconds. If I had a firstborn son, I would trade him for Sunday Ticket. I used to go to a Redskins game each year, which after every cost would be about $500 for 3 hours. Now I just stay home and watch all 14 games.

NFL Sunday Ticket is pretty much the only exclusive deal they have that's not offered on Cable, Dish Network, Comcast or AT&T U-Verse or Verzion Fios. Other sports packages like: -NBA League Pass -NHL Center Ice -MLB Extra Innings -NBA TV -NFL Network Are all offered to Directv's competitors . Even non sports stuff like HBO GO & On Demand services for other pay for premium channels like Showtime, Cinemax, Starz are offered. HBO GO is already in the works to coming to the PS3 also. I'll be getting this. I always wanted the NFL ticket, but never wanted to sign up for Direct TV, so this is perfect. The price is high, but existing Direct TV customers have to pay $335 for the NFL ticket, so $340 without a subscription is not that much higher. (New customers can take advantage of a limited time promotion to get one year of the NFL ticket for free, but thaey have to sign a two year contract with Direct TV to get it.)
I do wish Direct TV didn't have the monopoly exclusive NFL Ticket contract, then the price wouldn't be so high, but it is what it is. The high price is the NFL and Direct TV's doing, not Sony's. |

Sunday Ticket is a rip off because of the price.
Every weekend theres roughly 15 games played Free networks and cable usually show 5-6 of these games in HD, including most of the key/best matchups So in reality your paying for only 7-8 games a week Also Sunday Ticket charges a hilarious fee to get the games in HD. When I had Sunday Ticket I called and asked why it wasnt in HD. They said it was $60 more to get Sunday Ticket in HD. Stupid considering I was already paying $10 extra to get HD programming. HBO or no one else charged to have their channel in HD as long as you already paid DirecTV the $10 HD access fee $300 + is to help DirecTV pay the NFL exclusive broadcasting rights |
