Nice. I'm eager to see how these compare to MGM's discs - especially "Few Dollars".

These are MGMs disc. Fox, Warner and Paramount distribute their titles through Deltamac in HK. 99% of the time, the HK disc is the US disc.

PQ of FoD is not as good as the Italian version. The difference in PQ is similar to the Italian and US TGTBTU. FaFDM on the other hand is in some instances better or equal to the Italian release. So at least one of these releases isn't a complete disaster. FaFMD takes up 40.8GB (total disc size is 49.4GB). FoD takes up 32.1GB (total disc is roughly 40.6GB). The total runtime on FaFDM is also shorter than the Italian release (by about 33 seconds). I am not exactly sure what the cause of the difference in runtime is (if the scene cut in the DVDs is or something else).

Where did you get the PQ info? Have you seen it by yourself?

I'm very excited of these, especially FaFDM, though of the trilogy I like the most TGTBTU but that seems a pretty lost blu-ray if you can't enough of the Italian language.

I'm assuming the blurry images of FAFDM in that link are the mgm ones.
I'm confused now why people are saying that it is in some instances equal to the Italian version.
all the those shots seem to favor the Italian version by a mile.

The Italian version is the non-mouse over, the MGM version is the mouseover. In my opinion, I think the MGM is better in many respects (such as framing and detail). The only thing the Italian release seems to have over the US version is color seems a bit stronger. The Italian release seems to suffer from a bit of DNR.

I think the Italian FAFDM suffered because it is on a BD25 as oppose to a BD50. It was done at the same time as the HDDVD, so I guess they decided to just port it over.

oh well in that case I think I had it backwards.
thanks for that clarification.
I feel much better now.
if the screenshots that load up at first are the Italian ones then that's good news.
The mgm ones look noticeably better if I've got it right now.

Get real. The MGM is over sharpened crap.

I just went back and carefully compared the MGM and Mondo discs, using the opening scene and the scene in screencap no. 3.

In the opening scene on the train, the Bible Lee Van Cleef is holding is more color boosted on the MGM version, but the image outside and on the train has a more natural looking color scheme. The Italian version's colors are quite a bit more boosted than the MGM disc on the train and outside. There is also some nasty DNR going on on the face of the gentleman who starts talking to LVC, which is not present in the MGM release. There is minor sharpening, but not nasty.

Screenshot no. 3 of the MGM disc is significantly darker than I am seeing on my screen. The MGM and Mondo discs have nearly the same color/gamma. There is noticeable DNR on the Italian disc, and Clint's face was hazier on the Italian release. The screenshot exhibits more sharpening than I am seeing on my screen when I paused it and in motion. These is some sharpening, but not to the degree the screenshot is showing. I don't know what is accounting for the difference I am seeing between that screenshot and what I am seeing on the discs. The Italian disc looks identical to the screenshot.

Overall, the DNR on the Italian disc is far more problematic than the sharpening on the MGM disc. I also am not sure, but the screenshots appear to differ from what I am seeing when watching the discs themselves.

Only hope Paramount DE releases FAFDM. That one could end up being the best.
