Question HD ready (720p/1080i) vs Full HD (1080p)

After reading many Blu-ray movie reviews with a score for PQ, I'm beginning ot have doubts if I'll ever buy a full HD TV. Some of my favourite movies which I consider extremely good PQ got scores of 3.5 or 4 (I have a Samsung LE32S86BD). The Condemned, Fantastic 4 2, Ghosts of Mars, The Transporter all have amazing PQ for example, but they score around 3.5 or 4 in reviews, when I consider as good as Hellboy 2 or Planet Earth ...
The Full HD TVs I see in shops didn't get a WOW factor from me (OK the lighting is extreme and maybe it doesn't help see the quality), and I'm wondering if the HD Ready TVs are maybe taking away some picture porblems like artifacts, edge enhancement that would appear very clear on a Full HD TV.
So of course movies that score 5/5 PQ would appear better, but I fear movies that deserve 5/5 for my HD ready TV will look bad on a bigger Full HD TV as they'll show the defects my HD Ready TV doesn't.
