"Survival of the Dead" has appeared online.

Plot: When the idyllic retreat of Plum Island falls victim to the zombie plague, a new breed of clan war breaks out. On one side is the camp who want to exterminate all undead with a wickedly diverse array of brain-splattering headshots. On the other, devoted family members take the stance that "zombie-ism" is a disease, the undead have rights and they must be kept alive until a cure is found. Unable to simply "agree to disagree," the two clans go to war and make their island microcosm a whole hell of a lot bloodier.

The new movie will have its world premiere at the "Midnight Madness" part of the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Wow I really have no idea what that movie is about. I know there is a description in the article but that has to be the worst trailer for a movie I have ever seen.
..and I love zombie movies!

Gotta have some faith that Romero has pulled through again. I read somewhere else that this was an unfinished trailer that was missing color correction, effects, etc., so I wouldn't judge too harshly what you see here. Even on his worst day his zombie movies are better than most others.

What's with all the Romero hate?

The guy makes Zombie movies, if you don't like zombie movies, or are surprised when he makes another one... don't watch the movie {or open the thread}

If the topic interest me, I'm going to open it. Plain and simple. The trailer looks bad. For a guy that has directed 3 of my all time favorite zombie movies and inspired Fulci to create Zombi 2 - one 25th aniv DVD I treasure, I hold Romero a bit higher than the average joe schmo zombie movie director.

Land of the dead was ok, but Diary wasn't good. This doesn't look good. Romero is loosing it.

It's a promo trailer. I thought I'd start a thread about the movie since there wasn't one. I'm sure we'll see more polished stuff soon

I disagree.

Land was alright, but Diary I found to be pretty good.

LIke I said I love zombie movies but that trailer just is a jumbled mess. here's hoping its just prelim stuff and the goods are yet to come.
Also for the record I didnt think Diary was that bad. Wasnt a masterpiece but looks better than this one. The plot for this one just kinda sucks.

I must be in the minority. I really liked "Land..." and "Diary..." I love that he always has something to say, and that he just uses zombies to say it. And if you don't care about the social messages or don't agree with his viewpoint, you can just enjoy some excellent carnage.

I'm not basing any opinion on his new film on the promo reel. I'll base my opinion once I see it before I determine if it will sink or swim.

He has. His non-zombie movies haven't been all that successful.

I don't see why so many people rag on Diary, I actually think that it was better than Land, and it's basically from a first person perspective on what would happen when the zombies actually show up.
