Default wossman's Home Theater

Hi guys

I just posted pics of my home theater front projection setup. I live alone in a small studio apartment and it takes up my living room. The whole thing is quite portable and I've taken all the equipment in to work a few times for movie nights with my colleagues. That's loads of fun.

The centerpiece is Vivitek's H1080FD projector. I got it last Christmas when it was one of only three sub-$1000 1080p projector models on the market. I'm hoping that by this Christmas there will be a sub-$1000 1080p 3D projector for me to replace it with.

Mine isn't the biggest or baddest in the database but it more than keeps me happy.

Your comments are welcome.

Vary nice wossman, My only suggestion would be to get stands for the front speakers I know they would sound better raised up !

nice screen. Why do you keep your speakers on the floor? Or am I missing something!

You guys are right. The speakers would sound better on stands but I never got around to ordering them. Most of the time I put the center speaker on the little table in front of the screen so I can hear dialog more clearly but music doesn't seem to suffer much from the other channels being on the floor.

But I'll consider getting stands if I can find some that're compatible with my Logitech speakers.

Have you considered maybe making some stands for your front three speakers wossman ? Wouldn't be hard to do at all !

Also the speaker wires for the fronts could be covered by an area rug so nothing catches one of them like a foot The area rug will also help with reflections off the Tile Floor

I'm not familiar with how those pull up screens are supported, but perhaps you could even find away to attach the speakers to the screen itself, just below the picture? They look light enough that your could probably hold all of them to the wall with some good industrial strength zelcro. For the backs you might even be able to flip them upside down and mount them to the bottom of the table that your computer is on. That would get them all up off the floor but you would still be able to remove them and keep things portable. Just an idea
