Default Some Questions

I was wondering...

1. With Blue Ray, are studios going to do the same annoying thing they did with DVD like release several editions of the same movie? Or since there is so much room on a BD are they just going to have one standard version of each film?

2. Would something like one of the extended edition LOTR movies be able to fit on one BD or would it be 2? (Keeping in mind it took 4 DVDs)

3. Since there is so much room on a BD, what are they going to do with all that extra space? I know they'll have the movie in really high quality and extra features and stuff but will that really take up the entire space on the disc?

Thank you.

Count on it. Multiple releases of a popular movie title will remain the norm for both BD and HD DVD. I wouldn't expect much of this in the beginning but a lot when the formats gain steam.

One dual-layer BD is all that's needed. Those should be in production later this year.

Hopefully they'll use the extra storage capacity for higher bitrates to provide better video and audio quality. I would however, expect the majority of extra features to be in standard definition.
