Hey guys,
We received our True Blood Season 2 in today and work and I was suprised to see that the Season 2 Bluray is not in a Digipack like the First Season but it's in one of those 5 disc Bluray cases. Am I the only ones that gets annoyed/disappointed when companies don't keep it consistent? |

I am disappointed!
Are the US or UK gatefold? |

Mentioned this in the last watched thread when I picked it up yesterday. I absolutely hate this type of stuff. I like uniformity of design so whether it's packaging type, case size or artwork I really don't like it when it gets changed. It completely ruins the look of a "complete" series. Plus, I now keep my box sets and standard cases separately so that would mean True Blood's two seasons actually sit apart on my shelf.

Warner's response via email to my query:
Due to rising packaging costs a decision was made to package Season 2 (and now Season 1) in Blu-ray Elite packaging. This decision was made to avoid having to pass on these costs to consumers, and also to ensure cost differentiation between DVD and Blu-ray is kept to a minimum. We are sorry if this has caused any inconvenience. Aggravating considering in the US it's a digipack just like season one and that the UK has an Elite case like we do but it at least gets a slipcover. As for the "price differentiation", well the Blu-ray release is at least $15 more than the DVD release in most stores. How a maximum $1 packaging change would assist in making much of a dent in that I do not know. I tell you right now I would pay the extra dollar for it to be a box set rather than a cheap case. |

Man that's lame... I hate that I am even tempted for the re-purchase just for uniformity. But, I definatly do not want to encourage this type of behaviour.

I saw True Blood S2 today in stores, its not even in, what I would call, a regular Amaray case. Its slightly thiner, and has more square edges rather than the standard round corners. No embossed 'Blu-Ray' logo either. Very, very cheap of Warner. How do five discs fit into it? two on each side with one in the middle?
