Default Revel B-120

Just see if anyone had a take on these? I demoed them in the store today and they were awesome. great punch, wireless, and EQ settings. Retail is $1000, but the Hi-Fi Buys is selling the silver ones very well so they are going to sale them to me for 500$. So for the money I planned to spend I can now get 2. I am ok with the silver because i plan on having them concealed anyway.

I know Revel speakers are great and I really enjoyed them so that is all that matters. They are a 12" Driver. Just wanted to see if anyone else used them.

Revel is owned by Harman International. Some of the most well-known researchers, particularly in the field of subwoofers, work for Harman. Many of them used to work for the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada and are pioneers. All Revel speakers/subwoofers are designed and tested by people who know what they are doing. They make some of the best speakers in the world.

Revel B120 subwoofer is part of Revel's Concerta series. The B15a subwoofer is part of Revels' Performa series. The B120 does not have the low frequency extension of the B15a, but it is a great subwoofer for music and movies.

If the Revel speakers and subwoofers are within your budget, buy them.

The dual B120s produced a super-smooth clean bass that I really enjoyed. There wasn’t a hint of bloat or suck-out at any frequency. It was perhaps the cleanest bass I have ever heard. The physics of two subs really do make a difference in the overall quality and balance of low-frequency material.

There was plenty of volume and the bass was incredibly well-controlled and tight.

Big Daddy... Is there anything you don't know???

I came home and did a lot of research and found great reviews on the speakers. I went back on Saturday and gave it another listen, and bought the two silver ones. 1000$ for the two subs I cannot complain at all! I have them hooked up right now, but have not had a chance to calibrate them. I just plugged them into the LFE and cranked them up to hear what they can do... Talk about tight bass and powerful. Completely changes the soundstage of my system. I have watched, Monsters Vs. Aliens, Law Abiding Citizen and Zombieland. The sub has been very powerful and not distorted at all. Between these and the Martin Logans I am having a good month on finding killer deals.I have gotten $4600 (retail) worth of speakers for $1700.. not to shabby.

Thanks for all your advice.

well thanks. good luck with the cabinet

hehehehe..... get the wife into it too,.... it helps, she is now spending our next years tax return on a new Stand for the TV and audio components..... so I can consolidate my "crap" as she laughs....

Plus she said I should upgrade speakers if I want and the receiver..... Im hoping I get enough back to also get her a new couch and chairs... and a high-chair.

Yeah. She doesn't give me much crap right now... She is the one that told me to build the room. She just doesn't hear the difference in audio stuff... She has enough trouble with HD vs SD. LOL

You are mistaken my brother. I know more about those things than I know about audio. In fact, I wrote the book on them.

Don't assume that I will let you get away with mocking me. I plan to talk to your wife at the baby shower next week and warn her about how you are wasting your children's inheritance on unnecessary speakers and subwoofers and going to audio stores behind her back. You might as well write your will.

So you wrote that book called, The Book on Everything?

She told me last night she wants to go hear the Focals and Dynaudios with me..... And she wants to hear the Energys again....
