Default B&W M1 Foam Plug Question?

I have the MT30 kit with the PV1 sub and I have been using it for a few weeks now paired with an Onkyo 608 .. I felt that the sound was a little echo .. maybe because I had these wall mounted and very close to the wall..

Yesterday afternoon I tried out the Foam Plugs in all the M1 sats and it sounds alot more "punchey and meaty" if that makes sense.. I think its a definite improvement.

How far in do you have to puch the foam plugs in, all the way or juust a little bit?

Also will these damage the speakers in the long run or will it be fine?

Any thoughts and ideas?

Many Thanks..

Push the foam plugs in all the way till they are flush with the back of the speakers, plus if you're wall mounting them you want it in so the speakers stay flush to the wall also.

No you will not damage the speakers.

Thanks for your help and advice mate.. so am I right in thinking this does enhance the sound quality ? to me it seemed to make the sound more warm, less echo and clearer.. maybe its because they are wall mounted that they needed the foam plugs

also if you check my picture in my previous post you can see my layout of room and speakers positions etc.. please can you tell me if the rears need to move over to the side wall so that it can be on either side of my ears for a better effect or is this just as good enough.. ?

Thanks
